Product Description
MAG-LAX NW is a liquid concentrate containing blends of fatty acids and anionic surfactants used for preparing a spotting fluid or soak solution for freeing differentially stuck pipe. The addition of MAG-LAX NW to diesel, base oil or crude oil in small quantities ensures a rapid penetration of the solution through the filter cake into the formation. The hydrostatic pressure of the mud column is thereby transmitted to all sides of the drill pipe eliminating the pressure differential that caused the pipe to become stuck thereby freeing it.
Application/Function
When diesel, base oil or crude oil is mixed with MAG-LAX NW and applied against the stuck pipe zone, the mixture penetrates the filter/mud cake between the wellbore wall and the pipe, releases the differential pressure lock and provides a lubrication medium that enables the pipe to be pulled free.
MAG-LAX NW is recommended for freeing differentially stuck pipe in water-based muds when an unweighted spotting fluid can be safely used. If a weighted pill is required to combat high subsurface pressure MAG-LAX W should be used instead.

Recommended Treatment and Method of Use
23.8 to 47.6 liters of MAG-LAX NW should be added to each m³ (1 to 2 gal to each bbl) of oil that is required to cover the zone of stuck pipe.

Packaged in 200 litre of drums. Custom packaging is available on request.
