MAGIC-SCAV is SFK’s proprietary environmentally friendly oxygen scavenger. Corrosion by oxygen in the boiler can be controlled by the addition of MAGIC-SCAV to the preboiler section of the steam generating system. It is generally fed, along with other treatment chemicals, as an aqueous solution to the feedwater either just upstream or, preferably, just downstream of the deaerator, although it is sometimes added into the return lines to scavenge oxygen in the condensate. MAGIC-SCAV is also used as oxygen scavenger in water based drilling fluids as well as various types of completion fluids to control the oxygen catalyzed corrosion of metal components such as drill-pipes, casing and mud tanks. It also prevents the thermal degradation of various organic components present in the mud system.

Recommended Treatment and Method of use
Stoichiometrically, 8 parts of MAGIC-SCAV are needed to remove 1 part of Oxygen molecule (O2). Say 80ppm of MAGIC-SCAV is needed to remove 10ppm of Oxygen molecule (O2). A reserve of approximately 50ppm of MAGIC-SCAV should be maintained in the boiler water.

MAGIC-SCAV is packaged in 25Kg double wrapped paper begs. Custom packaging is available on request.
