Product Description
LIGNO-SEAL is SFK’s proprietary liquid polymeric based fast acting lost circulation material. AQUASEAL gets solidified when it comes in contact with water bearing surfaces like formation pores and fractures. The liquid phase of AQUASEAL gives benefit to mould itself to any shape of pores and channels. When the shape and location of loss (thief) zone is uncertain, AQUASEAL performs superior compared to conventional fiber/flacks type of LCMs. AQUASEAL provides a strong bonding between particles, hence gives greater strength to unconsolidated or poorly bonded weak formation structures. AQUASEAL transforms powder like sand to rock solid stone like block structures.
Application/Function
Quick performing liquid LCM for uncertain weak unconsolidated formations
Penetrates into uncertain shaped fracture channels of formations and provides strength by bonding among formation matrix particles and layers
Provides strength to unconsolidated weak matrix formations
Enhances the performance of other LCMs
Advantages
Easy to handle and no special arrangements required for application
Can be pumped directly through the drill pipe
Compatible with other LCM products
Compatible with any lost circulation material and drilling fluid products
Environmentally friendly and thermally stable up to 350° F
Recommended Treatment and Method of use
AQUASEAL can be pumped directly through the drill pipe or a separate LCM pit unit or a cement unit. Depending on the size of thief (loss) zones, 2 to 8 bbl of AQUASEAL can be pumped. AQUASEAL is a highly hydrophilic material, so to avoid any contact with water, 20 to 25 litre of mineral or vegetable oil must be pumped before and after pumping to avoid any pre-setting of AQUASEAL into the drill string.
Packaging
AQUASEAL is packaged in 5-gallon (18.9 L) plastic containers. Custom packaging is available on request.
Health & Safety
AQUASEAL exhibits no toxicity to human body and/or environment.
